I have skills and experience of working with a variety of issues, including:
  • Alcohol & Drug recovery
  • Depression/Stress/Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Major life changes, including work, behavioural and lifestyle changes
  • Young People's issues, including finding your identity and family/peer issues
  • Cross-Dressing, identity issues
  • Working with counselling students to complete statutory counselling hours
  • Telephone Counselling
  • Loss, bereavement & Terminal Illness
Recently, I tutored on an NVQ L2 Counselling Skills course at Guildford College. I thoroughly enjoyed passing on my skills and knowledge, as well as learning from my students too!

I have experience working in the field of bereavement and terminal illness. I have worked at a charity hospice for some years, and am still working at the Fountain Centre in the Royal Surrey Hospital (a holistic care centre for cancer patients and their carers. This work has involved:
  • Working with the bereaved to explore their feelings of grief and to find to resolve a traumatic loss in their lives without forgetting their loved ones.
  • Working with those who are terminally ill to find peace, acceptance and reconciliation with their situation and with significant others in their lives.
  • Working with survivors of a life-threatening illness to gain perspective and find a new purpose or direction in their lives, as many of my clients have expressed that they have 'been given a second chance'.
