Career History:
I currently work for RAPt (Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust) part-time as a trainer, for their counsellors and counselling students. I deliver bespoke designed Continuing Professional Development training and work as a tutor on their L4 Counselling Diploma. I thoroughly enjoyed passing on my skills and knowledge, as well as learning from my students!Previously I worked as an Acting Senior Counsellor for RAPt in a Surrey men's prison offering drugs and alcohol counselling.
I have experience working in the field of bereavement and terminal illness. I have worked at the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge and the Fountain Centre in the Royal Surrey County Hospital. This work involved counselling those who lost their loved ones; those who had life-threatening illnesses, or loved ones who were affected by caring for someone who was terminally ill.
I studied for three years at Guildford College, and graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling. I ensure I undertake many hours of Continuing Professional Development to keep my skills up to date, and have been professionally accredited by the BACP, and am a member of the UKRCP.
I have also completed a Diploma in Clinical Supervision, meaning I can now help and guide other counsellors in their work with their clients.
